journeys to australia
Making space for the stories of a lifetime

Developed for a private client, journeys to australia helps people tell the story of their migration to Australia. Correlo built the complete voice AI product: guiding the conversation, drawing out meaningful details and composing the speaker’s memories into a written record for archival.
approach
The technical work connects two stages: a guided voice conversation and the composition of an archival account. During the conversation, prompts and follow-up questions help the speaker expand on the people, places and events in their story. The material gathered through that exchange is then organised into a coherent written narrative. The central design challenge is to give the conversation enough direction to capture useful detail while leaving room for memory to take its own course.
outcome
The project connects guided storytelling with the creation of a lasting personal record. The vision is to make this available to older people, including those in aged care or living alone, so their experiences of leaving one country and building a life in another can be preserved. At its heart are the small, human details of migration: the people someone left behind, their first impressions of Australia and the moments that made a new place feel like home.
